How To Smudge

Smudging is not complicated, and totally safe when you follow several very simple steps. Smudging is an ancient and sacred ceremony, and can be best achieved with full awareness and should be completed slowly, not fast.

Negative vibrations are present in any home happy or sad, it does not pick people as much as we draw it to us, however when you notice these energy vibrations are present it is good to smudge. This can be done as often as you feel the need is present or at least a couple of times a year. This can include groups of people your pets and of course the garage :)

We do stock Smudge sticks and loose sage , charcoals, herbs and resins to cater for the individual. Just as there are various places online to view smudging as a practice and how to perform them but the easiest is by learning yourself.

in order to smudge your house:

A) Get one of each of the following . A smudge stick, Candle & matches.  A metal dish or shell or container with sand or even a dish as long as it is fire safe.

B)Light the candle and just focus your energy on it, you want to allow yourself to open up for about 5 - 10 mins, write a prayer or think of an affirmation. When you feel ready light the tip of your smudge stick with a candle light, then gently wave the stick in the air till the tip begins to smoulder. no flames just smoke, be aware of any fragments that burn loose.

C) Hold the smudge stick over the dish at all times in order to avoid any lit embers falling on the floor. Some people use a feather to assist in the smudging process, if you have one, but usually just gently waving your hands to disperse the smoke is enough. Stay connected with the session as you progress. If you have a prayer you can also say this as you walk through the house.

D)Go clockwise around your house (usually starting at the front door), Spend a bit more time smudging any closets or corners of rooms, even under beds, be careful in these areas when smudging and any embers. Gently let the smoke wash over everything.

E)When you have completed the house, you can easily extinguish the smudge stick by just dabbing it out or place the head into sand until it is out, make sure to remove it and place it somewhere dry, then it will be ready for use for next time.

You can leave the candle going if you like to help remove any residual energy as light attracts light.

It really is that simple :)

Remember Spirit is an energy form, that once existed where you roam, its essential being still exists where you are in a dimension unseen by logic eyes. It too belongs on this earth plane as heaven and hell entwine even within the physical beings who walk this path. Be aware of how you feel before you begin smudging and always always be PREPARED to negotiate. Have fun !
